1.inside表示“进入到里面”，into只表示“由外向内”这一动作；

inside有“被围在内”的含义，比in更强调，着重与“外面”（outside）对比；

inside还可表示“在……的内侧”，in则不能。

John cameinto the study. (跨过门栏进入书房)

John came insidethe study. (进进入书房内部)

2.inside通常指小的空间范围，within多指大的空间范围。

I know what'sinside the box.

He livedwithin a castle for two years.

3.在表示时间、距离时，inside和within均可表示“不超过”，在美语中还常用inside of。

John will leave within(/inside/inside of) an hour.

He waswithin about ten miles of his home. (离家只有十10英里)。
